"There is a tide in the affairs of men which taken at the flood leads on to greater things"

We are in Cusco at the moment just chilling after a day of hard work and lesson preparation. At the moment we are staying in the Projects abroad office in Cusco which is also the director's house. There are 4 of us from Pisac who are staying ther and we are having an awesome time. It's like having a giant sleepover for a whole week. The intention at the moment is to go back to Pisac for the weekend although the whole rain and flooding episode has rather scuppered our plans to go to Machu Picchu this weekend. One of ashley's students said "maybe you'll be able to go in May". We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed that we can go sooner.

The picture below is of the bridge in Pisac it is the reason that we have to stay in Cusco. to get in there are 3 options:
1 Go across the bridge and drive direct to Cusco. (the bridge is shut so you can't do this.)
2 Walk over a little foot bridge just outside Pisac and walk back to the main road where you can pick up a bus to Cusco. (this is VERY expensive at the moment)
3 Take the long route round going via Calca and Urubamba and Chinchero (you can't drive from Calca to Urubamba at the moment so that plan goes out of the window as well.)

Then to throw another spanner in the works, the road itself is shut every morning so they can clear the rocks that fell in the night.

So we decided to move to Cusco. I think that you'll agree it was the best thing to do.
